Rustler’s Rooste
About This Spot
Perched atop a hill in South Phoenix, Rustler’s Rooste welcomes you with the unmistakable sight of a longhorn statue standing guard, setting the stage for a uniquely Western experience that blends spirited charm with genuine warmth. The moment you arrive, there’s a casual energy balanced by thoughtful touches—the kind of place where families, couples, and groups of friends feel equally at ease, whether they're sliding down the playful kid-friendly chute or settling in for an evening that stretches out beneath the glow of city lights.
The atmosphere hums with a lively but unhurried rhythm, a wide-open celebration of classic Americana wrapped in the spirit of the Southwest. It’s a gathering spot that invites you to slow down and savor the moment, buoyed by friendly service that knows how to keep the mood light, festive, and welcoming.
Here, the dining isn’t just about the food—it’s an experience layered with flavors and textures that bring the West to the table. From hearty, perfectly grilled steaks seared to your liking to memorable bites like crispy cactus fries and surprisingly approachable rattlesnake, the menu offers unexpected joys alongside familiar comforts. Evening sips might find you raising a glass of prickly pear margarita or a local IPA, complementing a platter stacked with traditional cowboy beans or a big, generously seasoned burger that feels handcrafted down to every last fry.
Rustler’s Rooste is more than just a steakhouse; it’s a place where celebrations happen and memories settle in naturally. Whether it’s a birthday evening filled with laughter, magic, and complimentary cotton candy or a quiet sunset dinner with a view that quietly steals the show, the spirit of this Western refuge is found in those human moments—the shared smiles, the attentive nods from staff, and the easy joy of good food enjoyed in good company.

The best birthday experience we've ever had from a restaurant!! The service was spectacular!! With complimentary drinks, cotton candy, a magic show and a birthday package, it was such a memorable moment that my son will forever cherish. Thank you for providing such a welcoming and exciting night for us!! 100/100 and that prime rib... *chefs kiss*.

First time eating here and we will definitely be back! The view is amazing. It truly blew me away like wow! The vibe and atmosphere is fun. I really love everything about this place. Food tastes homemade too. Tried the cactus fries and they are yummy. The steak is cooked exactly to order and the corn on cob is sweet and tender. The carrots taste homemade and candied. The baked beans taste homemade too. The mashed potatoes have a yummy sausage gravy too. The cocktails are excellent. Service is fast and friendly. The atmosphere is clean and inviting. I’m so glad to have tried this restaurant and we are looking forward to the next time and may have to bring family when they visit out of state.

We stayed at the Arizona Grand Resort and took the shuttle to this restaurant and it was such a neat experience! The place is very unique, the staff are all very friendly, there’s a Long Horn greeting you at the entrance and a fun slide for the kids (or some adults) to skip the stairs. The food was okay, the brisket was a little too greasy and the salmon was NOT good but the mashed potatoes and the ribs tasted great and the plate sizes are huge! They also have a very cool cotton candy birthday to celebrate those having birthdays! The view is also pretty good and they had a band playing. Overall, we enjoyed it very much mainly because it’s very family friendly and it has a very unique decor.

Jeremy was an awesome server. He recommended the double barrel margarita and it was yummy. He kept coming back to our table to check up on us. I've been here a couple times but he gave us many suggestions since we had one in our family that's never been here. Excellent place for kids because of the slide. Its also percent at night for a date night overlooking the city at night with the lights.

A Must-Visit Restaurant in Phoenix! This place is absolutely amazing! From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by a real live longhorn out front, which instantly sets the tone for a fun and unforgettable experience. The restaurant sits on top of a hill, offering a spectacular view that makes dining here even more special. Inside, the atmosphere is lively and welcoming, and the staff go above and beyond to make you feel right at home. It’s also incredibly family-friendly — there’s even a slide inside for the kids, which they loved! Every night there’s live music, adding a perfect touch of energy and entertainment while you enjoy your meal. The food is delicious and made with quality ingredients, with portion sizes and prices that are more than fair. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. Before you leave, stop by the gift shop — it’s full of fun souvenirs and local goodies that make great keepsakes. If you’re ever in Phoenix, this is an absolute must-go restaurant. Great food, great people, great atmosphere, and a view that can’t be beat — truly a one-of-a-kind experience!

In all the food was good, the atmosphere was nice and it was compatible with my dads taste in atmosphere. He put his music up and it fits. The pork rib was really falling apart off the bones, and so was the beef ribs. There was a lot of carrots I had to finish up, but there way of calling the fry bread biscuits was cute. The root beer was at a 1 out of 10 for me, 7.
